Bizzy Beads was sold on 9/12 and has closed its doors for business.
This is exciting news for Katie and she is excited to move on to the next chapter in her life.
Thanks for your business and continued support!
Recently I have been very addicted to reading crafting blogs. There are just so many ideas out there. So when I saw this post, I knew I had to make these flowers! I took a look at my ugly drop ceilings at the store and knew these flowers would create the perfect effect.

That's hanging on the green wall--doesn't it just pop?!

You will need to start off with a stack of tissue paper, some scissors, and some string. I used monofilament or fishing line so that you wouldn't see it. I chose to use white tissue paper so that it wouldn't affect the lighting in the store when I hung them on the ceiling. I have made some with colorful tissue and they turn out just as nicely. Target has some really awesome tissue paper, and it's only like $2 for a stack.

Layer 5 sheets of paper together and start according folding along the long edge.

If you don't want your flower to be super huge, now is the time to cut the accordian in half. (I did this for all of my flowers)

Use 5" of fishing line or any sort of string to tie a loose knot around your tissue paper in the middle of the accordian. It is important to not pull this too tight and cinch your paper.

Use scissors to round off the edges at each end. I did a shallow scallop on each end for my flowers to get them to look like peonies, but you could really do any sort of design. This will be tricky if you use a lot of tissue paper.

Fan out both sides of your flower being careful not to rip the tissue paper (it is very thin!).

Start carefully pulling each layer of tissue into the center of the flower. To make a pom pom instead of a flower, pull the layers in both directions. You might also want to use a few more pieces of tissue paper if you want a sphere instead of a flat-backed flower. I chose to use only 5 pieces of tissue because it still gave me a nice full flower and it saved me from having to buy tons of tissue since I was making a ton of these.

And there you have a fabulously fun flower! You can tape them to a wall or any surface, but I found that using 2 thumbtacks held the flowers nicely to the ceiling.

The once ugly, now whimsical ceiling completely with heating vent and fun little flower clouds!
